Diamond Depth
The measurement of the diamond from the table to the culet,
expressed in millimetres. The depth percentage is the ratio of depth of the
diamond to its diameter. The ratio of the depth of the diamond to its diameter.
This means how deep the diamond is in comparison to how wide it is. The depth
percentage of a diamond is important to its brilliance and value. The diamond’s
pavilion should be just deep enough to allow light to bounce around inside the
diamond and be reflecting out to the eye at the proper angle. A good depth
percentage will differ for each diamond cut.
